Middlesbrough were one of the first English clubs to recognize the urgent need to modernize their football business and brought in iFc 1966 in 2003/2004 to develop a long term revenue and recruitment strategy.
Working with the football department, work began on developing a modern player recruitment strategy to maximize returns for transfer fees and player wages. The club began a pro-active policy of recruitment that was highlighted in January 2008. Similarly, work in the business division identified the need for change and modernize of revenue generating programs.
